7 of the main highlights from last night's Late Late Toy Show

Well, that’s that done and dusted for another year.

1. The new stage setup allowed Ryan Tubridy to get an Alan Partridge reference in.

He climbed right up on Glenn Ponder’s balcony and said “Knowing me Ryan Tubridy, knowing you Sophie Whelan. AHA!” Wow. And there are people out there who say that Ryan Tubridy couldn’t present a cat.

2. A little girl named Alyssa charged Ryan €100 for a coffee, proving that she’s ready to open a coffee shop in Ranelagh any day now.

 3. Two little Limerick girls knew way too much about Chuckie for a pair of kids who were most likely born after 2010.

4. A young lad named Leo blew the audience away with his performance of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

He also told a cracker of a joke.

5. During the vehicle segment, Ryan was hit by a garda car.

After the collision, Ryan asked if this young garda wanted to say hello to anybody important. He replied, “Yeah”, before taking a long pause which left us all waiting for him to give a shoutout to Nóirín O’Sullivan. Thankfully, he just said hello to his friends at school. All set to the soundtrack of Chic, for anyone excited for a bit of Nile Rodgers this evening.

6. A young Kerryman’s dream came true when he met his hero Davy Fitz.

You can see the full story here. We’re a big fan of this chap, tbh.

7. Then finally, a little boy called Scott had us all in tears as he recounted the story of how he gave his cousin a bone marrow transplant because he “wanted to save her life.”

Honestly, if you’re not prepared to cry just skip this last video. Go do something else instead. The video for thank u, next came out last night. Go watch that instead. If you’re ready to cry, however…
